An interesting question arose in the comments section of Rob Thurman’s guest blog a few weeks ago about how far a writer can take something from mythology away from its roots and still call it by its name of origin.  In other words, are vampires still vampires if they can walk about in the sunshine and don’t need to drink blood to survive.

What’s your writing process like?  Are you a plotter or a pantser?

I like E.L. Doctorow's line that writing a novel is like driving at night; you can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.  I start out with character and a general idea of what I want to happen, but most of the story takes shape as I go ( Read more... )
